Long notorious for its bone-chilling frigidity, Lake Superior is far warmer than normal, and could be headed for record-setting high temperatures later this summer.

I see the picture getting repainted. They will not be happy until cap & tax is in place. Can we ever just acknowledge that it is a cycle just as it was when the glaciers covered Superior.

The air temp was 95 last Saturday in Duluth. It takes a lot to warm that much water and over a large area. Climate change is evident all over the planet and this serves to remind us of just one of the local impacts.

are going to blame this on George W. Bush, supposed global warming, or both?

So people who believe scientists and their research, and care about the earth and the future are freaks? Why so closed-minded about the climate change? Why so defensive?

Obviously this is just a socialist plot to redistribute the wealth.

I bet when the ice cap over all of Minnesota that CREATED Lake Superior melted that temps were up a bit from the past period as well. The Earth's temp changes people...or we would never have had the ice ages come and go...let's stop this political madness!

Global Warming Climate Cooling Change is now upon us. It shall be the end for all. If only we had listened................

Someone needs to tell obama,so that he can immediately take the foucs of the BP spill "AND" blame Bush.

"The bottom line, the researchers concluded, was climate change: 'Lake Superior is responding to global climate shifts as clearly as anywhere on Earth.'" Technically, Lake Superior is responding to local climate shifts, not global climate shifts, though the local climate shifts might be part of a global pattern.

the same people (Fox subscribers?) who went on and on about how the cold spell last winter pointed to the lack of a global warming issue, will now ignore the hot spells, record warming of Lake Superior, and the record Arctic ice melt. I honestly don't understand. What's to be lost by entertaining the idea?
