A North Shore tradition

Lutsen Resort has drawn visitors for years with its wide beach, gracious dining and respect for nostalgia.

I think the writer got the name wrong on the person who rebuilt the resort and the ski hill in the early 50's. George Nelson, Jr., son of George Nelson, Sr. who is the son of C.A.A. Nelson was the one who got into skiing during the war while in Europe and he and his parents built the ski hill. Ed Nelson was George Nelson Sr. brother. I grew up in this area and have known the George Nelson's to operate the resort and ski hill.

I prefer a more rustic experience. Give me a housekeeping cabin anyday (if you can still find one not gobbled up in the crazed rush to develop all the true character out of my beloved North Shore!!
