Is if the M's took Revere, Blackburn and Glen Perkins. I would say no way to Hicks, Gibson and Ramos.
Cliff Lee wouldn't turn them from a team just good enough to win the Central into a World Series winner. There are other vulnerabilities too, like the rest of the rotation and a thin bench.
has to go. Both are good players, and you have to give up something to get something. Since Seattle is probably not interested in either, a third team would have to be involved. Kubel to the Dodgers?
then it could put them over the top. But without another legit reliever this team is toast. Throw in another minor leaguer for him.
not so much, 2 games under .500 in june and not playing like they did early in the year. time for several guys to pick it up or getting lee wouldn't mean a thing.
Lee is not enough to lift this team to any postseason success. Its highly likely they don't even win the division. Chicago is finally ptiching great and winning and Detroit has a much better lineup than the Twinks. I see 85 wins with or without Lee tops. Lee could win every start and you still have four other guys that could implode any start. Baker Lirano, Pavano, and Blackburn are all average at best. The lack of power with Punch and Judy Joe leading the singles attack doesn't equal a pennant.
and play every day he's not worth giving up a top prospect like Ramos. The Twins showed again tonight an inability to get clutch hits. A dozen starts from Cliff Lee won't change that.
...then make your final offer, and if he refuses, move on. Houston will deal Oswalt right now, and it won't take much if the Twins pick up a good chunk of his salary. Or go make an offer for Haren. Or go find a third baseman. Sitting around waiting for Seattle isn't doing anybody any good.
...Souhan is the guy who over the past three years has advocated for trading away Liriano and brought us all the upsides of trading Morneau.
I'm convinced that u clowns don't even watch baseball with your stupid comments... Go back to watching Tennis... Won't win the division? Detroit has a better lineup? Sure doesnt look like it's working.. Seriously?? Ramos has came back down to earth now and we r stacked at catchers.. anyone remember how good Morales was last year?
