Despite a recession that's crimped mainstream beer sales, Summit and other craft brewers' sales stay strong.

I buy nothing else. We've got so many local choices now, there's no reason to buy the same old crap anymore. P.S. We need that downtown Grain Belt sign lit up again!

While I enjoy, there's even more beer to love in Minnesota. Surly and Schell, as mentioned, obviously. You can also add Lift Bridge, Fulton, Flat Earth. They are all making really yummy beers that are WAY better than anything made by MillerCoors or Anheuser-Busch.

... do people drink (Insert Corporate Entity Here) Lite? Were they born without taste buds?

Pretentious loud-mouthed beer snobs are so annoying. Miller Lite does taste great and I don't even care if it's less filling. Summit tastes like a glass of ear wax to me, so to each his own.

How do you know what ear wax tastes like?

....but have been boycotting it for several months. They sponsored and anti-Semitic ultra-right wing performance at the Bedlame Theater this winter. If Summit supports Hamas, then I no-drinky it.

You're doing a good job of bringing them to their knees.

If Summit EPA is too strong for you (by far their most popular brew), try something else from them. Or, look to some of the Schell's brews, which are quite good and would probably appeal to more main stream tastes. I just don't get not buying local beer.

Summit & the whole anti-semitic thing... someone explain?

If you knew how much beer I drink. But it's principle. If a local brewery sponsored a play called "How I came to love the KKK", and the advertising posters showed a someone in a white robe and hood, with the brewery's logo on the bottom, I would be boycotting that one also.
