Get ready for spring

We're always eager to get in the garden come spring. What's different this year is that spring came earlier than usual, so there are lots of chores you can tackle now. But you'd be wise to wait to plant most annuals and perennials.

I am SO SO SO itching to plant my garden now!! I see from this article I can plant lettuces and broccoli, so I am definitely going to plant those this upcoming weekend. I already tilled my garden area and we mulched and every day I look at my fruit trees -- their first winter and they survived, I am happy about that. We already got onions out of our garden, last week, from LAST YEAR!! I wonder, are carrots and onions able to be planted this early, too?

Anyone have a favorite website that will help this beginner with novice gardening tips? Do i trim down vines? Or do they grow back using the old dead remanents from last years growth? Do i clean up last years Hosta's remains? I can't for the life of me figure out what to clean up and what to keep... HELP!

I have been eagerly awaiting the return of the Greengirls and finally gave in an planted peas and onions without their blog-based blessing. Are they coming back this year?
