With all due respect, did the two experts in the story take into consideration the fact that we have had a MUCH warmer March than usual so we are in many respects already in April. Plus, March is usually cold and frozen. This month has been dry, warm and windy ... further drying out our yards. While they seem to be treating this as a normal March, other articles in the STRIB and on TV are reporting otherwise. All the weathermen, including Paul Douglas, have noted that we really need rain after such a dry month. Another article mentioned that the "ice out" is much earlier than normal. For the first time ever, I got a notice from the City of Bloomington indicating there was a fire ban IN MARCH. This article would have made more sense early in the month while we still had snow on the ground. But after all the warm, dry weather (and no snow or rain), I think their advice was really out of step with the current conditions.
