The information on Irish soda bread is great. We all love it! But if you don't want to make your own, try Breadsmiths(www.breadsmithmn.com). It's the best.

Instead of corned beef and cabbage we have bangers and mash. Soda bread is perfect to sop up the delicious banger gravy that pools up on your plate along side your mashed potatoes that have been laced with pungent, tender cabbage. Put some sweet peas on the side and your in Irish heaven. Banger's and mash tastes better than corned beef and cabbage. I throw down the gauntlet and challenge all corned beef and cabbage cooks to match the succulent flavors of bangers and mash. Bobby Flay where are you!

I tried the 3c/1c unbleached flour and whole wheat combo. It was tasty, but really dense. I'm going to look for the other ingredients suggested: whole wheat pastry flour/wheat germ/wheat bran and try that for the family celebration tomorrow...
