A new feature taps into the state's interesting thinkers, personalities.
It would be nice if you actually did that. But the Star Tribune has become nothing but another tabloid; now it makes up stories rather than report the ones that are out there. Why? Because the truth often isn't controversial enough, and controversy, like sex, sells.
And free, right? You don't have to pay them, so you can start digging your way out of your financial hole...
The health care system is broke so you ask a guy who built a fortune off health care to prescribe a solution. The financial system is broke so you ask a former leader of the Federal Reserve to describe a fix. I read the article about global poverty (Atwood) who says we don't do enough when the cameras leave a tragedy. I hope you REQUIRE that these experts get to know what normal people do to keep this complex system going. More disrespectful lectures than you already have will just mean more wasted trees.
We're in a lot more trouble than I imagined. How about some NEW, intelligent voices, instead of the tired old plutocrats, pop culture stars, and know nothings who you mention?
to take Barnard's mug off the front page. Ack.
any liberals to join your list? (I don't know much about Mr.Atwood, but I'd guess the others will be presenting views the Chamber of Commerce would approve of.)
This guy moved to Minnesota from Colorado to complain about the taxes. Then he moved to North Carolina, but moved back to Minnesota to complain about the taxes. He lives in a $750,000 Woodbury mansion with five bathrooms, and complains about his taxes--using his 50,000-watt megaphone. And this is one of the people you're turning over your "Minnesota Voices" editorial columns to? This so-called newspaper and Nancy Barnes have hit rock bottom.
