Yeah mspgunshop, maybe we could save a job or two. Or by providing this city some equipment we no longer use and proper training, not only for firefighters there now but training that could be passed down for years, maybe instead we could save many lives. Well done Big Sister City.

I have spent much of my time in third world countries and believe this is a bad idea. Kenya does not have fire hydrants or mechanics to work on equipment like this. What should have been done is to auction the equipment then buy the Kenyans a Toyota pick-up with a water tank as a fire truck. Good intentions, but bad idea.

A toyota pickup with a water tank would not be enough to put out a church fire. And that is not a recall joke.

They will maintain this the same way the Cubans maintain those '50s vintage cars.

Great story. Sure beats reading about some troops trying to kill people in other countries. Thank you, Strib.

Still we should consider the "fiduciary responsibility" with the city government feeling generous with "other peoples (taxpayers) money". This is a city that can't fix potholes and wants to impose a streetlight "user fee" on property owners. ........ Oh well! Perhaps Kenya will "reciprocate" by sending Minneapolis an extra batch of "refugee immigrants". I've heard that Kenya has almost as many of these as Minneapolis!

But who in Minneapolis government cares about our "hicks" in the Minnesota "sticks".
