Sudden acceleration in Toyota and Lexus vehicles has been blamed for at least 19 fatalities and 815 crashes since 1999 --------------------------- Toyota knew about the problem but figured it was cheaper to blame the driver then pay for the cost to actually fix the problem. Bean counters cost people their lives.

in America and you get rice. You buy a Toyota and you get a Ford? Or is it the other way around. This is great, the liberal media jumping down the throats of Toyota, too bad they weren't so aggressive when we invaded Iraq or when the housing bubble was getting ready to blow and how about Darfur?? Oh that's right they have China's oil. And why is anyone getting concerned about public safety anyway doesn't that fit into bootstrap pulling? We let BP and 3M dump until we die why can't Toyota?

Those Toyotas were mostly made in the USA. All recent model Corollas were assembled in Fremont, Cal. The supplier of the faulty pedals is a company in Indiana.

The recall is for vehicles throughout the world, not just the U.S. Toyota does not export vehicles from the U.S to other countries. Read the article in the Pioneer Press about Toyota's influence with the U.S gov't, it explains a great deal about how things get done in this country. roar

just because they are assembled here doesn't make it an American car! If ANYONE uses a defective part, the blame falls fully on the manufacturer. You gets your facts straight before you post. And that money you spent on your rice burner goes overseas and will not come back. You are a fool if you think differently.

a 2005 Camry, runs great, though this last time, I was convinced not to buy Japanese due to the money going over there so I bought a Volkswagon Tiguan. I'm so glad I made the choice as this car is OUTSTANDING!
