... or that woman who killed the man at the bus stop wouldn't have received such light sentence.

She killed a man.

mean? Did he go through treatment? He needs an ankle bracelet for the next 10 years that measures alcohol in his system. It looks bleak for this guy. Has no reason to stay sober, so his actions speak.

Lock down treatment and 10-year sobriety checks might help. Intensive psychotherapy. Most drunks don't stay drunk unless there's a damn good reason.

What low fine amounts for DWIs. Under 200 dollars? I paid MUCH MUCH more when I accidentally parked in a handicap spot a few years ago...

Ya, right. With his history, allowing him to pay $1000 and release him on that promise proves DWI's are not taken seriously in this state. He will likely drink and possibly drive before March. Hope he doesn't kill someone next time.

For clarification, the legal limit is 0.08 (not 0.8 at which point you would be dead).

Alcohol is a Drug, Alcoholism is a Disease. You don't treat diseases by shaming the victim/patient by putting their mug shot in the paper. Shame on you! Mug shots of robbers, thieves, crooks, killers - YES! Patients with disease - NO!

You're right, your fine was wrong, it should have been $500.

What's the point of this story? No one bothers to say anything about the victims at all. I have had 4 friends and my baby killed by drunk drivers. Where are the stories about the victims and the toll that their losses have on their families?

I totally agree. This is ridiculous!!! It's like going back to the dark ages. BURN THE WITCH!! Why not make bars illegal??? Then people are much less likely to drive cause they will be drinking at home! These people are SICK! They need help, not public shame.
