This country was made great by the vision of the founding fathers (some of whom, yes, owned slaves). Martin Luther King Jr took much of that vision and made it a reality for all Americans (not just white). While this is a great accomplishment I believe the Founding Fathers have been tossed aside in the name of modern day political correctness. I would like our kids to hear more about the ones who layed the pavement for our great Republic such as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and George Washington. If our kids knew at least these three persons and their history, along with our Constitution, I believe our Republic would not now be in danger to an overreaching and tyrannical government.
