is counting on finding 1 million invisible people that we never knew lived here. Otherwise, we lose one Democrat in Washington and that would be a disaster. Or, would it?

No tiring in the Republican party of trotting out that bogeyman - or of beating a dead horse. And, since it's been the Republicans telling people not to comply with the census, what makes you think it's a Democratic seat that would disappear?

In reality the district that would be lost would be Congressional District 6. It would probably be split up between 5 and 8. I think Ellison and Oberstar would both win. How ironic would it be for Michele Bachmann to lose her seat because she told her constituents to NOT fill out their Census forms?

Come on now. How can an organization that has been indicted for election fraud in over half of the states be considered ethical and responsible? Give us all a break and get your liberal heads out of the sand.

"The controversial community organizing group Acorn has not broken any laws in the last five years, according to a Congrssional Research Service report released Tuesday evening. In none of those instances did Acorn violate the terms of their funding, the report said. Since the 2008 elections, the group, which works primarily to expand voter registration and affordable housing, has become a key Republican target. A series of scandals brought to light by conservative activists led to multiple Congressional hearings and repeated attempts to deny it taxpayer funding. Acorn has been the subject of scores of investigations—a total of 46 inquiries by federal, state, and local agencies, including the FBI and the Treasury Department, and five by Congress as of October 2009, according to the report. The report found no evidence that voters attempting to cast ballots at the polls had been improperly registered by Acorn, a chief Republican accusation." -- from the New York Times

Hope we're not so busy posting comments when it's time to fill out our census forms. A fair count is one thing that we can all help achieve. With the exception of "apple pie", and, yes, I suppose even apple pie has become controversial in some sectors, nothing is more American than taking the census. Just do it!

There you go folks, our own government likes to give away billions to corporations, but when it needs to hire its own citizens to perform work it's on the cheap. Something wrong with this picture.

This coming from someone who still blames Bush for all the ills of this country. Priceless.
