Complaints about the squawking began early, making it an easy call for voters to bestow the trophy rather than more taxpayer bucks.

Shouldn't he at least been considered given what's happened to Gopher Puck?

Glen Taylor allowed Kevin McHale to destroy the franchise, finally makes a change, and then the replacement he hires drafts 5 point guards and the number 5 overall pick is still playing basketball in Europe. Most NBA teams bench can beat the T-wolves starters (sorry Big Al, Johnny Flynn). Fans continue to suffer, while Taylor is content with being well under the salary cap and having a 1/2 full arena every night. Justifies beating out Brewster.

as representative for the umpires this postseason? We all know the calls - especially the one costing our AL MVP an obvious double. He is truly turkey worthy. As for his share of the bailout money - I have a feeling that was taken care of by those that wanted higher t.v. ratings for the playoffs... before the postseason even began.

I'm actually a little shocked at all of the Brewster support in the comments so far. Why? I supported him from his hire until the Ohio State game this year. It has become clear that, despite his remarkable skill in recruiting, he can't coach. He also can't seem to find or keep acceptable coaches to do the coaching for him. His recruits might be talented, but they have no one to make them better. There are teams out there with less talent that are beating good teams, winning games that they "shouldn't" win. The Gophers haven't done that, or even come close, in the three years that Brewster has been here. That is eye-opening. He picked an offensive coordinator, in Jedd Fisch, who obviously has absolutely no clue what he's doing. The last two games have served as fantastic examples of his ineptitude.

Also, for all of the complaining about Glen Mason (I didn't like him either), I can't deny that his recruits were the best on the field this year. His defensive players were the ones who made the games even halfway watchable toward the end of the year. What happens when they leave?

You can dislike Reusse, that's totally fair, he's a curmudgeon of the first degree. However, at this point it's hard to deny that Brewster is the Grand Turkey of them all. Anything less than the Rose Bowl next year, and he'll lose his job. You can count on it.

Stop settling for 3rd rate coaches. This is the Big Ten and we have a new stadium. Let's go.

the OL (except 2 starters picked up by Brew) and the QB are also Mason recruits and they were far from the best players on the field. Fisch will improve with a year of college level experience. Most people predicting 6-6 and a bowl appearance before the season started were abused by the know-it-all posters. Even though the strib writers and the vocal minority don't like him, Brew isn't going anywhere. Next year we will have the most talented and deepest roster we've had in a long, long time.

Gophernication Nation! Q. What's the difference between an at-bat and a plate appearance? A. Reusse has never missed a plate appearance.
