Wisconsin hunters take more deer because most are shooting deer over feed piles.

You are absolutely correct. WI allows baiting, MN doesn't. If baiting for bear was illegal, would any bears get shot?

2 gallons of bait per 40 acres hardly constitutes "feed piles", smellson. Educate yourself before you make such stupid comments: http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/wildlife/bait.pdf. And baiting is allowed in just over 1/2 of the state and only on privately owned land.

North Dakota issued 140,000+ tags from a population of 650,000 people and fills an average of 75%. A larger percentage of population hunts deer and are more successful.

It's an excused absent from school for kids to hunt with their family the whole hunting season. Two of the hunting days in WI. are holiday's for most people so more people pushing. MN has their hunt 1st week in Nov no holidays so no one hunting during the work week. Come on this ain't that difficult. Baiting is a joke. If you're hunting over a corn field your baiting. Baiting is only beneficial when and IF the corn is ever out before opener which if you really think about it corn is hardly ever out before opener. So where are all the deer? Not on your bait pile but in your corn fields. Stop having people in the woods so many different times during the deer season. It should be one time period and that's it unless of course for the youth hunt. DNR's from both States have a way of creating a mockery of hunting only because they are influenced by the bigge$t mouth$!

The difference in the 2 states is how the deer herd is managed, both by the DNR and hunters. Wisconsin DNR manages the resource, Minnesota DNR manages the dollars. Quality Deer Managment techniques are widely used in Wi compared to the MN theory of "If its brown, put it down"! And for all the "antibaiters", you can't bait whats not there.
