They must denounce exclusionary biases and embrace the vision. (Or else.)

Please, Ms. Kerstin, challenge my viewpoint. But do it without inflammatory language that discredits your own argument to those not already convinced of its truth, before we can even get to the merits.

You are so right on. This is communist BS at its worst. It is a state university (?) trying to ram down the throats of future teachers. Please consider other options. Private colleges offer you a much better option. Not as much bias, and communism in education. And you will get a MUCH BETTER education at the same price. Yes, the same price. All private colleges give loads of aid. Don't buy into the crap of the U of M. The professors, who have never had a real job or had to make a payroll, would prefer communism. Going there only supports it.

I wonder what the truth is.

And it is piercing my ear drums. Please stop.

Racist, KK? Go to north Minneapolis and ask any number of blacks if Minnesota is still racist. I'll bet you a steak dinner you'll get an overwhelming "Yes!" Sexist? Well, KK, your own Archbishop Nienstedt complained that Catholic women weren't having enough babies. Keep them barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen is his motto. Homophobic? One only has to read your outrageously bigoted, anti-columns to know that is the truth.

Oooops. That should been "...anti-gay colums...

The heading of the report is "DRAFT. NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION. For discussion uses within the College of Education Human Development TERI project only" You can find it about a quarter of the way down on this page: under Race, Class, Culture, Gender. Its is in a .doc format. Kerstin apparently doesn't want her audience to read or think for themselves, since she omitted the citation. Why is she always writing on the thin edge of hysteria? Nowhere does this draft recommend "that aspiring teachers there must repudiate the notion of "the American Dream" in order to obtain the recommendation for licensure required by the Minnesota Board of Teaching." Kerstin is just flat out lying here. That fundamental fabrication is the core of her entire editorial. What has Katherine in a tizzy is that she and her ilk would flunk any assessment of cultural intelligence. In her warped view, white homophobic, racist, fundamentalist christian dogma is the only "reality" in America. (Remember, they are the "Real Americans" we hear from at the Teabaggers' parties.) So of course she is terrified to learn that American society is more nuanced than her cloistered little world admits. Nobody disputes that America will be populated primarily by "minorities" within twenty years, and that every social metric shows minorities lagging in educational, social, and economic attainment. Thee has been a recognized "under class" in America since 1906. For these human beings, there is currently no hope of seeing Kerstin's Pollyanna-like "American Dream". I'm tired of financing prisons to warehouse the results of Kerstin's facist utopia. I want all kids to get educated to be economically and socially successful, and I want every teacher to be equipped with and and all techniques and information that will reach them. So I solute the Bush Foundation for supporting the improvement of teacher education in Minnesota. I suggest that Kerstin find a bottle of whine to dull her bitterness and chill out.

She seems to have no acquaintance with them.

All I had to do is read the first paragraph to know what would come next - yet another vapid KK rant against a false premise.
