Let's hope it works. Tokyo is really amazing with its mass transit lines. And, with correct planning and design, the lines can actually be profitable unlike countless other lines around the world. With any luck, I would love to see some more public transport (especially trains) for the southern and eastern counties so we can avoid the 494-Wakota rush hour traffic.

I'm riding it right now. Northbound out of Minneapolis and each stop gathers more riders (although most seem to be like me; riding for fun). And everyone is getting interviewed by the other passenger group; the media.

The buses are cheaper and more flexible, and can be implemented more quickly. However, MTC has not prioritized making bus transit more palatable to commuters. Scheduling buses so people can make connections would be a start.

It doesn't personally help my commute to work, but I'm glad that Minnesota is taking steps to give its citizen more options. I'm very much in favor of more mass transit.

Good job spending $320M on a ride to nowhere. Good job stealing our hard earned money so you can subsidize this joke.

It doesn't personally help my commute to work, but I'm glad that Minnesota is taking steps to give its citizen more options. I'm very much in favor of more mass transit...as long as someone else is paying for it.

Make it make a difference. This one will help highway 10, but lets take on a major route next, like I-94 both East and West of the twin cities, Cedar, 35W, 394, and even 36.

It needs a bar car so you can party before Target field, or unwind with a drink on the way home from work.

That's funny. I feel the same way about freeways. Don't drive on them. Why should I have to subsidize those who do? Oh, because that's what it means to be a citizen. It's not all about me. Darn.

Between their Metra line for commuters and EL lines for moving people around the city, it works for them, even in bad weather. Our congestion will only get worse. Light rail is a move our grandchildren will thank us for even at its significant cost
