They need to lighten up a bit...it's not like no one looked for the deer. According to the stories in the Strib - he (T-Paw) looked for it for a period of time - and wasn't successful went back to camp and left...Others from his party then went back to the spot and looked for it. For 2 days! I've hunted for years and know that the odds of finding a wounded deer are slim to none if there isn't snow to track in. It happens from time to time - to all of us.
I've missed having him in the village laughing stock.
Anything this paper can dig up to try and smear T-Paw they will. This is proof of that. What a joke.....
This "sportsman" represents the party of personal responsibility.
What a clown!
Could be a career ender if you take down a reporter by mistake. Who is handling this guy?
The Strib owes somebody an apology. The first story published quite clearly stated that he (Pawlenty) shot the the deer and left the scene. There was no mention of this follow the blood trail and nothing, breakfast, and then what. Directly from this link: http://www.startribune.com/politics/state/69657497.html?elr=KArksUUUoDEy3LGDiO7aiU
"Pawlenty, who tends to come up empty-handed during the opener, shot a small buck while hunting north of Thief River Falls on Saturday morning.
But it ran off into the brush, apparently badly wounded.
Hunters who were with Pawlenty started following the blood trail, but Pawlenty had to leave for Iowa, where he was headlining a Republican Party fundraiser." There is a clear distortion of facts between these 2 stories that the Strib better owe up to. But considering the shell game they plyaed with the truth about the legacy amendment last year - I'm not holding my breath.
A letter writer to the Star-Tribune the other day pegged it perfect when he said Pawlenty's pathetic hunting escapade is a metaphor for his governing. He's left the state gut-shot and wounded and run off to chase his presidential aspirations.
and I would be happy to testify to the original article that was on here was intent on defaming him.
Is it also a sin when i hit them with my car and dont track them down. they searched for it, i think that is a hell of a shot at 200 yards, for some pencil pushing geek, come one. do you expect him to track his own deer, he most likely has his caddy out there to carry his gun for him
Mark Johnson, executive director of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association and an organizer of last weekend's hunt, said Pawlenty and his hunting party did everything they could to find the animal.
