I do not understand this. In order to be a priest, you have to be able to trace your ancestry back to Aaron, Mosses’ brother, with out interruption. Who can do this? There are no priests in The New Testament Church. The Church is not a tabernacle, temple nor synagogue, it’s new and Jesus became our high priest forever, making a permanent intercession. There are no more priests. I studied the bible for decades. This is made up folk religion.

Your are making a comment on a newspaper article abou the election to bishop and it's about who can be a priest in a religion you either aren't part of or regard as a "made up folk religion"? I think you need to get out more.

The Episcopal Church has been leading the way in changing attitudes towards women and GLBT participation in liturgy and sacrament for quite a while now. The Rev. Prior will be a good leader of the Church in Minnesota who can at least begin his tenure unmired in controversy.

I do not know Brian Prior. However, I do know Mariann Budde, and the diocese missed an enormous opportunity when it decline to elect her bishop. She is an outstanding rector and will, inevitably, someday, somewhere make an outstanding bishop, maybe even a presiding bishop. It would be a very good idea to keep her in Minnesota, doing her terrific good works for the benefit of Minnesotans. If Minnesota Episcopalians aren't careful, she will be snapped up for service somewhere else.

"In doing so, they sidestepped three potentially historic choices for the 106-congregation diocese's ninth bishop: a woman, a Native American or an openly partnered lesbian." You wrote nothing about their qualifications. Maybe Brian Prior is more qualified.
