When your career is going no where, do a Christmas album.
It's already been where no one else's has...He's Bob Dylan. People will be listening to his music 100 years from now.
He didn't have anything left to prove after 1966. All the rest is icing on the cake.
So this would be just what I'm looking for another Christmas album by an old rocker who couldn't carry a tune with two 5 gallon buckets.
Compared to who?
My first thought was 'Yeah, and G W Bush is going to write a government management textbook.'
Year after year, Bob Dylan continues to produce music as compelling and as vibrant as ever. This fan looks forward to this new album. “Here Comes Santa Clause Alright!
the vibrant and iconoclastic hero of my youth is now out in the pasture singing some of the most insipid music ever. Someone please put BOTH of us out of our old-age misery!
That guy is a poet.
He should WRITE Christmas songs.
I hope it is out in time for Christmas this year. His work continues to be interesting and stretching his boundaries. I hope when I am in my 60's I can say the same for myself.
If you do not like his voice, that is OK, I am sure you can find plenty of Christmas albums by the big corporate music stars, whose voices will be processed to sound absolutely perfect.
For me, I prefer authenticity and soul to perfection and gloss.
