With the high state income tax >7%. High unemploymnet taxes. High corporate taxes (35% federal and 10% state.) Osama and the rest of his socialist engineers pushing the idiotic cap 'n tax program. Is it any wonder companies like 3M are looking to different states or countries. Wake up people. When you elect socialists you get perpetual 10+% unemployment. Get used to having your jobs exported to low cost countries like Ireland, Poland and other low tax havens.

Its good news..but alot of our good news is due to our cost control. Also,we have a conservative approach, focus on cash value. Obama's policies will hurt us, and drive more growth to China.(Huge new operations going up there). Take a look at how 3M split its business into subs. That way taxes are controlled better.

The weird thing is that taxes in Minnesota have been "so unbearably high" for decades and yet ... you're still here. Your neighbors are still here. Most Minnesotans never live anyplace else. So how bad can the taxes be? It's not like high taxes were invented in the last five years. They weren't even invented when Saint Ronald rode into Washington.

And how bad can taxes be when companies like 3M, General Mills, Best Buy, Medtronic, Target, Cargill, Carlson Companies, SuperValu, Ecolab, UnitedHealth, Land O'Lakes, and US Bank have headquarters and major operations here? Complaining about high taxation in Minnesota is a load.

that Obama's tax and spend policies are driving mfg jobs to countries other than the United States. Jobs lost under Obama's administration in the mfg sector are NEVER coming back to the United States. If you don't like to work or are a govt employee, I guess that's OK.

Got news for ya schmuck. I'm moved to Texas with a number of other transplanted Minnesotans who were fed up with the taxes and the states socialist policies. And when I left the state guess what I got a 7+% pay raise when I left. Can you guess how? So yes, it is that bad. And to think the only person between a 10% tax rate is T-paw and the socialists in the legislature is even more scary!!!

Here's one 3M'er that would gladly leave this state if they moved my job. Sure 3M remains, but moving a corporate headquarters would mean financial upheaval of titanic proportions. But, make no bones about it, 3M's workforce in Minnesota has been shrinking. Some new manufacturing capacity out of state, but most overseas. For those of you that love this worthless liberal state, where were your beloved state legislators two years ago when they had a nice surplus. Did you hear any of them complain about what to do with all their extra money. No, because they spent it quietly, permanently expanding government, so that during this downturn they can be stamping their feet demanding higher taxes like two year olds. I'm old enough to have seen this cycle a few times and definitely plan to leave this state for greener pastures....
