Doesn't Mayo clinic realize that fully fueled aircraft take off and land within yards of the MOA? Patient safety could be compromised! They're so concerned about railroad traffic and the safety threat it imposes on Rochester, yet they'll build a facility within yards of one of the nations busiest airports. Just wait until Mayo begins imposing its' will upon the Twin Cities as well.

I don't think they will be doing MRI's or delicate procedures at the MOA.

They do MRIs at the Tria center not far down the road.

Any health care that is inexpensive and readily available for all, I am all for it.

What gives you the idea that this is going to be inexpensive and available to all? This is the Mayo clinic....not the walk in urgent care. If they aren't making money like the story indicates they aren't going to give away anything.

Actually this will probably be very similar to the walk-in clinics that you find at any number of locations these days (Target, Walmart etc) that handle only inexpensive, minor issues and some immunizations while refering the major health issues on. Mayo already has two locations in Rochester that provide this service (which, incidentally, is also a business that Fairview is in) for very low cost. So it probably IS going to be a lot like a walk-in urgent care considering Mayo is already in that business.

I am sure that the reason the MOA is being sought out is because it is right by the airport and Twin Cities. The Mayo is one of the best medical facilities in the world. The MOA is the perfect meeting point for specialists in the TC area and specialists from Mayo. I think this is more for medical conventions that patient treatment.
