I'm a big fan. This is hearbreaking. I'm gonna change my plan for Sunday night's show. I'll be replaying his visit to Studio C. Best to his friends and family.

He fronted a lesser known band called M.I.J in the days of Braid and teh Promise Ring. Late nineties. He wasn't very famous, but really talented and made beautiful music. My friend might have seen one his last performances in Phoenix over Memorial Day weekend. Played for very few, but said it was really beautiful.

What kind of idiot would vote against "This is so sad. A man dies. This is very sad."? Beam me up, Scotty. There's no intelligent life down here.

That's why they call it "the news", as in, "something new or different". In this case, it's something you didn't know before you read the article. Most people alive today know everything, which means we get to skip right to the pretentious "why are you telling me things I already know because I already know everything" part of the comment section. The record label was rather well known even if the artist perhaps wasn't. Newsflash- you're not as cool as you think. Now that's not news worth. Get over yourself. My condolences to the family and Mr. Hanson's friends and fans.

It's okay if you haven't heard of him before this, but now that you have heard of him, you should listen to his music. It's very moving and he's one of my favorite songwriters. I definitely will miss his presence in the local music community.

Jeff and I have been friends for over 18 years, and he is leaving behind many, many friends, family members, and fans that will miss his music, creativity, humor, and honesty. It is a sad, sad day here in Minneapolis, as well as everywhere else where his amazing voice touched so many. Miss you buddy. I will miss you always. scheife.

If I read one more comment to the tune of "why is this news?" I think I will scream!! It's news to someone, even if you have never heard of the person. If you have nothing useful to add, please stay away from the comment section. If you don't think it's news, don't read it and don't comment. I realize you do have the right to speak your mind, but that doesn't mean you are not a tool!! I am unfamiliar with Jeff Hanson, too, not living in Minneapolis. But I was interested in reading further and in reading the comments. If you read an article and it hasn't interested you, then just go on wiht your life without comment. Don't insult others by commenting that his death isn't news just because you have never heard of him.
