"I don't know why Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 would be any less confusing," says Sun Country. That's the most excellent use of common sense I've seen in a while. Sadly, it will go in one ear and out the other, I'm sure. It would take a 1,000 page document to explain to some people why changing from Humphrey to Terminal 1 would confuse the hundreds of thousands of locals who already know it as Humphrey. Solution: Add the airline names to the sign as suggested, keep the Humphrey and Lindbergh names. Mission still accomplished.

$1 million for new signs? Wow, I wish I could get that contract. Heck, I'd do it for $500,000 even though I'm not in the sign business I sure could learn for a half-million dollars!!

wouldn't it be easier to call the Lindbergh Terminal the "Main Terminal"? That's how I've always looked at it. Don't change the freeway signs, just make them look like this - Lindbergh Terminal (Main) Exit 1B. Humphrey terminal Exit 1A. Seems pretty simple.

The out of towners using rental cars are probably going to the same place to drop said rentals off for either terminal. If they're being dropped off by a local he/she should already know Humphrey and Lindbergh. There is no way this is a $1,000,000 problem...

...I'm reminded that our government goes to great lengths to figure out ways to fritter away a bunch of cash. Getting to the airport isn't tough. Ticket says Humphrey, follow the signs for Humphrey. Ticket says Lindbergh, follow that sign. Seriously, if you can't figure that out, I don't want to sit by you on a plane.

Leave the signs alone!!! It's bad enough that highway signs are generally confusing but at the MSP facility the signs serve their purpose quite well. I speak from experience with other major airports. The only caveat I really fear is the proposed waste of taxpayer dollars for supposedly 'proper' signage or the adding of multiple languages to the highway signs. What we have is simple and efficient enough for all to find the terminals.

Sun Country's rep is right. Numbers will not make the terminals any easier to identify than names. The airlines should be identified, though, and do it on several signs leading up to the airport, and not just one 1/4 mile before the exit. The quote from the guy who just came back from Denver is a little odd considering that Denver only has one terminal.
