That would in effect be throwing the entire state's election efforts for six months of hard labor into the trash can. All of the efforts of every single election official, the recount workers, the State Canvassing Board which included the Chief Justice and an associate from the MSC and certified Franken the winner, and the 3 judge appeals panel which certified Franken the winner would be for naught. Heck, Minnesotans would ride tham out of town on a rail!
The only fair thing to do here is have a new election.
If the court ruled for Coleman, Minnesota would have to completely revise the way it conducts elections. I can't see them inflicting such a radical change over a single close election.
