Sid, If you actually had to "pay" for tickets you would think twice about the direction for which this organization has been heading. Bad draft picks, poor free agent signings and decisions down the line. Put yourself in the shoes of an average fan who actually pays many dollars to go to these games. According to the Star Tribune poll earlier today, 89% of the fans thought it was the right decision by Leipold to fire Risebrough. In the end, the fans are the ones who support the team and until you actually pay to go to games, you shouldn't be too concerned.

...Mr Risebrough is a close, personal friend, while Mr Leipold is not.

I don't even know where to start. And I'm a guy who was willing to give Doug one more year - yet I still find myself in stunned disbelief at your column. You say yourself they look to be a franchise in decline - might that have had something to do with firing the GM??

I can't wait to read the comments about this one. Go get him boys.

So we are supposed to believe that he is the expert here. Sorry Sid, you have your knowledge in most sports, but when it comes to hockey you prove once again you know nothing about the sport. Stick to singing the praises of Bobby Knight.

Listening to him slur his speech and having difficulty forming coherent sentences. It really is a shame. Sid, you are and always will be a Twin Cities Icon....but there comes a time when you must shut her down.

Sid, please retire. Please.

He sounds like a 3 year old the way he is crying.

You lost me at 'the organization drafted well'. You are clearly even more clueless than we could have ever imagined... We are all dumber for having read this.

Where do I begin? A lot of people suspected this was going to be Lemaire's final year no matter what. Risebrough made a lot of questionable decisions during his tenure a GM-bad draft choices, the continous trading away of future draft choices, poor free agent signings, letting players leave through free agency, etc. Leave the hockey writing to Russo.
