The incidents involving Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Delano, aren't recent and a DFL panel chairman still backs the measure. Court records were posted on a blog authored by a former staffer for Democrat Al Franken.

So in other words, Al Franken is more responsible for what a former staffer might do than this Republican representative is for something that he himself did? I suppose Franken was responsible for the representative's drinking problems and Norm's funny money too. Remember, the mantra is "Obama is the Messiah, Franken is a national joke and a failed comedian, Bush is a heroic and noble leader."

If Lesch favors the bill, that makes me think there is something seriously wrong with it. He is a petulant, foolish young man who I wish would become a Republican. So this bill has bipartisan support -- twits on both sides of the aisle support it. Not very encouraging.

Lets not lose sight of the fact that this bill would appear to water down the DWI laws that have been so hard fought and won over the years. If anything, there should be harsher penalties for those who choose to drink to excess and hurl a 3,000 pound missile down the highway with no regard to the safety of others.

Emmer said Sunday that he'd learned from the mistakes. "We all come to the Legislature with life experiences, but it has nothing to do with this bill.

and we still elected him. Well actually it was you, not me. I'm still waiting for 2010 so that the conservatives, maybe not exactly the republicans, can take control and get us out of PBO's mess.
