This is the type of story we need to see more in the papers. Not the soulless spin our politicians serve up every darn day!

Too bad our financial community is not made up of people like Mr. Hernandez. Unfortunately, it is all too rare that our country celebrates people who put others' welfare before their own.

There is a difference between "helping" and "going to get help." Unfortunately, in today's society, taking the initiative to help often backfires. This young man indeed took a risk by taking that initiative, and he made a conscious decision to accept that risk and help. The fact that he did so does not in any way diminish the heroic actions of others. It is very proper that we should take the time to celebrate his choices and actions. I can think of 50 other people who would strongly agree.

Jeremy, you deserve every bit of the praise and commendation you are getting. You may think that anyone in that situation would have done the same thing, but I am not so sure about that....

It's great to see young people do great things by helping others to safety.

This award is well-deserved. It is this type of heroic effort that quite possibly led to fewer fatalities that August day. I salute you, Jeremy! Congratulations!!!

Mr. Hernandez is correct; he was "just doing his job". Fortunately for the children, he was just doing his job, very, very well. Some people might say, "Look what I did". The real hero's humbly say, "I was just doing my job".
