The more I hear about Twitter, the less appealing it sounds.

Are these people that lonely? Wouldn't it be better doing something productive? "I don't get it!!!!"

I would agree with you that it seems stupid but it is a great way to network. Instead of bashing it give it a try. http://twitter.com/jeyberg

There are as many ways to use Twitter as there are people using it. My goal is to drive more qualified traffic to my Web site. I'm appealing to people with a specific interest in one geographical area, so I have searches set up to find a list of key words used in tweets on any given day. My own tweets often include links to content on my Web site, but I am equally apt to share newspaper articles, helpful Web sites and other comments about my topics of interest. My background, my profile, every aspect of my Twitter home page are geared toward promoting my Web site and business. And in the past six months, I've built a list of Twitter followers who drive about 20 percent of my Web traffic. Twitter is like any other technological tool. You can use it to waste time, or to accomplish something. It's all up to you.
