The proximity to Target Field should boost business, but owner Lou Sirian is highly pessimistic of that and, well, most everything.

Nothing but booming business for Lou! Be nice to see someone other than rich team owners and players benefit from a new stadium....

Gee, sounds like 1982 all over again! Remember when we voted down the metrodome via a vote? Well, looks like history is repeating itself! When in doubt, don't be successful unless your involved in the very small mpls. circle of rich bastages!!

While Mr. Sirian correctly notes kids don't belong in his establishment, I wonder if a walk up window for hot dogs, pretzels, individually wrapped ice cream novelties, and bottled water, etc., wouldn't be a bad idea. Some nice walk by traffic there, sir. How about getting one of those hot dog food carts like they have in New York and operate it on the sidewalk in front of the bar before games.

You don't want their business anyway Lou. They are all scum.

the yellow, sticky liquor in a tall bottle that nobody carries anymore? I'll get a license and run a hot dog cart there myself. It would probably pay more than I can earn now workin' 8-5!

I have seen Dale Watson many times at Lee's along with many other acts, and it is a great place to hang and grab a beer. The Twins crowd is not all kids and families. I also love going to the Twins games and I usually grab a beer and food at Hubert's. In 2010, Lee's will be my new pre- and post-game watering hole. Twins fans who don't already know about Lee's will love the old-time atmosphere and the fact that you can always see Lee there in some fashion (I don't work there, nor do I get paid by Lee's). There's a reason that Dale Watson keeps coming back and wrote a song about the place. It's Lou. It would be sad for Lee's and Lou to get run out of town because people think the place should be something different (i.e. serve food, cater to the masses, etc.). Lee's gives Minneapolis a down-home touch and I think people will discover that Lee's is a destination itself in addition to the newly created Plaza and Target Field. Don't destroy what's already there in tradition, legacy, and one man's hard work and dedication because some people think the elite or classic family crowd needs a certain type of pre-game festivity. Build your classic all-American bar and grill all around Target Field, but leave Lee's alone. And don't worry, Lou, people will come. And they'll have one heck of a good time. Lee's Liquor Lounge has hit the jackpot, and the many Twins fans will soon find out why. I just hope it doesn't change Lee's or Lou. And I'm guessing it won't.

I meant you can always see Lou there in some fashion.
