Republicans: you are being put on notice, cooperate and move past the partisan crap, or be put out to pasture. President Obama said it more politely of course, but that is the message. If not, you and W will be saddled with what you wrought!

I am sure that they will trim things out... just like the rat is going to leave the cheese alone. Not gonna happen. This has already gotten out of control all in the name of "creating jobs"

Republicans are not going to let threats change what they think is wrong. I hope they don't jump on board, and when this thing does not work the Dems won't have anyone to point the finger at but themselves. If this were a republican bill you would be screaming your head off about the pork. Have an independent view for a change instead of just swimming with the current. It't likely to take you out to sea and let you drown.

We thought the first $700 Billion was bad, now Congress is working on another $900 Billion. And they've spent untold Billions from other sources. All we need is (A) help for housing so let the Government refinance mortgages at current rates (about 5%), (B) extend unemployment benefits for out of work Americans and (C) drop the corporate income tax rate to zero for any company that hires workers and expands payrolls here in the United States. This bill can be written up in about five pages, puts Americans to work, cleans up the banks and keeps people in their homes.

Wow. The inflated ego of this person is beyond comprehension. All of the Republicans that The Obama thinks must listen to Him have Years more experience than He both in the public And private sector. Why would they assume The Obama has any greater knowledge of these issues?

As an independent I don't see how anyone can support this porkilus. It contains 32 new government programs and does little to solve what got the whole world into this mess -housing. We just have spent 750 billion dollars and the buffoon Bush and Congress don't have a clue how and where it was spent. Tell me President Obama, if this bill is so important why did you allow Pelosi and Reid to load it with such controversial pork?

If McConnell doesn't think Obama has the votes, he's whistling past the graveyard.

tells you that the bill will be changed in conference committee...that's the way the rules are written. Why all this before it really counts ?

"Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said Sunday the massive stimulus bill backed by President Obama and congressional Democrats could go down to defeat if it's not stripped of unnecessary spending and focused more on housing issues and tax cuts." The Democrats in the Senate need to finally realize they're in charge after all these miserable years under Dumbya. Go ahead and let the neocons filibuster it. Film them doing so. In fact, pack as many different cameras at different angles and get every syllable recorded. When the economy is so far in the tank that we'll all be hunting squirrels and living in tar paper shacks, show the film on sides of buildings, on televisions for those who still have them, and on the internets for anyone left there. Have it as a split screen illustrating what all their greed and obstructionist techniques have done to our country...show the long soup/bread lines, the multitudes under bridges, the people lined up along the floor in hospital wards coughing from TB and shivering from the remnants of hypothermia and frostbite. It is time to drive the last vestiges of the Wealth Bloodsuckers and this Corporation-first party off the cliff, never to be seen again. Make the word "Republican" as a secondary, obscure definition to "Whig." It is time to take back our country from the lunatic right wing fringe!
