no evidence exists indicating that he may be a risk to flee the country and that he and his family will pledge substantial personal assets to guarantee his appearance at trial. What does he own that's not about to be siezed?

Why would they ever release this a-hole. He will rot in jail anyways so why let him out now. Not to mention that he was planning on leaving beofre they arrested him a few months ago. 3.5 billion ponzy scam? Why hasn't the 50 billion dollar cheat been put behind bars? I guess Petters didn't steal enough money like Madeoff has stolen. If I was Petters, I would ask why he is stuck in jail while Madeoff is in his 7 million dollar apartment.

every one of these weasel conmen who play at being CEOs should sit in the can unless and until they can not be proven guilty in court. once they're out, they do anything to insure they don't serve their time.

I guess you have to be a REALLY big thief to get out of being in jail, and await your trial. Should have stole MORE than 3.5 BILLION, Petters. I wonder if he (Petters) has been sold for a pack of cigarettes yet...

They will let him out. He will be placed on home monitoring. His attorney will still have to carry the 160 odd boxes to petters house everytime they meet.

Its just so wrong that any one person should be allowed to acquire that much money. But enjoy it while you can. In 12 years President Obama will insure people who make this much money will provide for the less fortunate also. Both poverty and luxury will be a thing of the past.

He is going to post bail with other people's money? Can you really trust Petters? Everyone would look stupid if he disappeared.
