Please use increases in revenue and budget cuts to fix the 4.8 billion 2 year budget problem. Don't rely only on cuts for that entire amount.

Once again the Governer shows all the compassion of a lump of coal in an Xmas stocking! Back in 2003, Health and Human Services were forced to absorb nearly 60% of the cuts forced by Gov No-tax's intransigence and now he wants to go after more. Never mind that those funds go towards keeping the poorest and most vulnerable of society with health care; never mind that social programs have already been cut so far back that they are effectively unable to perform the mission they were originally started to do; Gov I-got-mine-get-yours goes after the same population again. And why, because he's too spineless to ask his rich benefactors to pay their fare share into the society in which they live. He's a poor excuse of a Governer and a sad waste of human flesh.

Man...we gotta cut spending instead of transfering the burden to city and county levels!

The college students of this state have had it socked to them in every budget shortfall since 2000 and it's the college students who fall victim when they are slapped with double digit tuition increases when higher education is cut. I think I understand your point though matty that colleges and universities aren't living within their means; however, it is the college students who fall victim when cuts are made to MNSCU and the UofM.

time for the counties and cities to cut the pork. If they don't, don't vote the fools in again. It's not rocket science. So tell your locals to get the knifes out and get to work.

Shame on you cutting aid to those who just lost jobs and can't find any. Maybe you should take a pay cut. I bet you got a raise this year, you have a place to live and food to eat. And to cut funding for kids that what a higher education. Not all parents can afford the cost does that mean their kids get screwed? Under your plan I guess it does.

Instead of investing in those things, like higher education and community and human services, that make us a better society, Pawlenty cuts them, and he gives us more of the same military and police surveillance. Why do low SES young people sign up for the military? Because they have few options in this society. Why do we need so many police, such that a convention becomes a battlefield? Because we have to police people who aren't given opportunities in this highly stratified society and who thus act out their frustrations. And amen to raymondb62--Pawlenty's too afraid to ask high wage earners to pay their fair share even when the fair-minded among them have offered to do so. What an embarrassment this state has become.
