Dean Vlahos faces a double whammy -- the economy and his tight association with the jailed Tom Petters -- as he scales back expansion of his restaurant chain.

I don't feel sorry for any man who brags about wealth. And, for the record, Tom Petters never "owned" anything. You can own something when the money you put up was stolen in the first place.

I wonder if Vlahos ever heard of Due Dilligence??? Next time you invest a sizable amount of money... hire a 3rd party to do some due dilligence first. Duh!!! Both of them should have known better. I love Redstone. Good food... nice digs. I hope you stay in business.

Red Stone is a great joint. I had no idea they had such a scalable business plan in the works. Terrible for Minnesota that its on hold. Give it a year or so for this economic funk to clear and I bet they will be back on track and hiring lots more people for new sites. FYI: If I had 16M to steal and some piker like Petters ripped it off, I might consider hiring some assertive message senders in the joint to let Petters know just how angry I was with him.

This guy has $33 million in Florida home real estate, has $16 million invested with Petters, and he is borrowing $10 million to expand? Why doesn't he spend his own money? This sounds like another Ponzi scheme. I won't be surprised when this goes belly up also.

How can Vlahos say he is hurting, when in fact in October, he considered the loss a wash? Now he is crying? I don't get it? He made a ton of interest of Petters, before he went down, but like the rest, DC, MC, LR, BW, TP. They are still trying to live the high life, and expecting us to feel bad, while others of us struggle to get by in a month. DV and Michelle have claimed a washing in this, so which way is it? Are they looking for another sorry handout? I guess maybe next time, you should do your due dilligence.

Redstone is a grossly overpriced Bennigan's.

Why are you not filtering comments like you did with the Petters stories? I find it ridiculous you censor the comments at all. This story is just as vitriolic. Case and point, this story has (potentialy) libelous remarks about several people in the comments section and there they remain... I don't care that those remarks were made, and in fact I defend marcusalien's right to say what he wants but where is the balance and where do you draw the line?

Dude....go to Arthur Bryant's or Gate's BBQ in Kansas City and try some real ribs. Not the Hormel processed, coated with way too much sauce, garbage ribs they serve at Redstone. This State is deprived of any decent BBQ
