Deficits and loss of its St. Paul home have the art museum packing and seeking a new place for its collection.

Wow, never knew the place even existed. Sad.

I used to make special trips to the museum to visit its collection, especially the Manfred sculptures. The museum may have considered the space unwieldy, in that the collection was spread out through a series of rooms, but those of us who visited found it charming. Any possibility they can move back there?

It's hard to believe the County has a buyer lined up in this economy. I want to work for the company that buys the building because they obviously have money to throw away.

Unfortunately, the powers that be have decided to demand that we pay increased income tax to build a stadium for a sports team owned by a billionaire, but we have to VOTE on whether we want clean water, and the closing of a museum is barely even recognized. What's wrong with a society that deifies a person who can swing a bat and do something physically great (but only lasts a few moments), but admonishes someone who creates a lasting piece of art that will astound people for hundreds of years? No matter how you look at it, Minnesota is losing a place that displays art by local artists and few people seem to care...maybe if we unplugged our TV's, shut off our computers, and searched for real beauty, this world would be a better place.

Such a beautiful view of the river while listening to (mostly) good music. You will be missed.

No political trolls spitting forth venom in here. Time to take a visit to a museum and get a life.

Get in line, now we got a museum that sits in a garage but someones says the crap inside is art so it must be and no one wants to see the crap I mean art so we are all low brained monkeys because we don't even know of this mess! The caretakers of this so called museum don't know how to run a business, lets book shows on comic books and american indian art--great combo and house it in a garage and don't tell no one about it! Then get sympathy and then we'll ask for a bailout! Remember we're talking 4 museum employees here and all this valuable crap I mean art. Sounds like it is time to donate the so called art to other museums if they would take it and close the doors to the garage I mean art museum.

wow. what are you doing reading the newspaper when you can't form proper sentences? You probably didn't know about this museum because you don't understand what a museum is. The museum is housed in a former garage, but it is a beautiful space. If St. Paul loses this museum, we lose an 113 year old institution, with an INCREDIBLE collection- one of the best craft collections in the midwest.
