The optical machines, used in 18 of St. Louis County's precincts, had trouble with thin lines connecting arrows.

I checked out 2006 voting machines for St Louis county. I found more than you did. Evidently some have been replaced since 06. If Norm can hold the Franken gains to 50 or 60 he'll win the recount because the rest of the state minus the machines I had only had Franken up 20 votes and that's with most of Ramsey county and St Louis county, strong Franken areas. Coleman will pick up votes elsewhere. Pipestone I think had Coleman up 5. So I guess we see what comes in tomorrow. Odds are still in favor of Coleman. My calculations have Coleman at 135, but if your machine numbers are right, it may be higher.

Al Franken. A guy who is so unqualified to get a real job that he decided to run for senator of Minnesota because he knows how far left people in this state lean. I guess it beats collecting unemployment. If he succeeds, we'll be able to thank the party loyalists for voting their D, rather than with their brains. It would be a catastrophe if we have a filibuster proof Senate and House, with a far left president. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the people in Georgia will have better sense that Minnesotans do.

Hey sassygopgirl--you and others don't understand that all this talk about whether someone; Obama, Palin, or in this case Franken, is "qualified" is a big red herring. What counts is who the candidate will caucus with in Washington. Coleman will caucus with the corporate/theocratic-dominated Republican Party and Franken will caucus with the Democrats. Now if you want the religious right up in your business or you are a billionaire and need further tax relief, then root for Coleman. He will deliver those goods to you and throw in poluters running the EPA for good measure. Otherwise, go with the comedian.

Frankly, your commie pseudonym is really a sad monologue in and of itself...I lived in a communist country for 13 years, Marx was not right...but, that is beside the point. What do you mean, theocratic-dominated Republican party? It is the party of anything goes, corporate corruption, homosexual bathroom antics in airports, child molesters from Florida...kind of the place you would think Franken would fit right in with his SNL and Playboy rants.

The range is like South West Texas, how many votes does the DFL candidate need to win? We'll get them by any means imagineable
