I'm glad that Franken is trying to prepare himself if he were named our junior senator! that's the least he could do. I do find it ironic that the Coleman camp disagrees to everything--including the MN law that automatically gives the recount. What are they afraid of?? What are they hiding?? It seems to me that payback might come back to haunt the republicans. . .2000 all over again?? Hmmmm... one has to wonder. Just allow all those who voted to have their votes count. If you're going to complain, do you really care for the rest of those who didn't vote for you, Mr. Coleman? What are you hiding??

Franken's working on what he'll do if he has to be in DC in January. While I think it is unlikely he will wind up needing this trip, it merely makes sense for him to prepare, since it is close, and there is going to be a hand recount. With a 5 member review board with just one Democrat, I'd call Franken an optimist. But, you know what? Better safe than sorry. It would be a lot worse if that one-in-ten chance the recount puts him in materializes and he isn't prepared. Norm shouldn't give up his DC place, but Good for Al that he's getting ready.

But anointing oneself Senator a la Napoleon, then stammering something about being "humble" serving a second-term for Minnesota...all while credibly accused of political corruption?

Well, schucks now that's just Norm being Norm!

"Coleman's communications director, Mark Drake, upped that ante, calling it 'highly presumptuous for Mr. Franken to undertake such a visit when his real purpose appears to be fundraising and gaining partisan advantage from non-Minnesotans.'" By the way, what partisan advantage might that be? Mark Drake, your precious Normy has already had his henchmen work the ref in the form of Mark Ritchie to the point where there is only one Democrat on a panel of five judges. Are you worried the decks aren't stacked enough in your favor yet? Pathetic neo-conartists and their lust to prevent all the votes from being counted.

How does that go? ...and...well, we don't use punch cards in Minnesota so I don't know what you are talking about. No, actually I will just assume that this board painstakingly recounted all the votes, and if Coleman wins, I will assume that they recounted the votes fairly and that Coleman won by popular vote. If the tally comes up the other way, if Franken wins, I will assume the exact same thing. You people, who are into vicious name calling and conspiracy theories need to get a grip on yourselves. Seriously, I read through these comments and I really wonder what the point is, what you are trying to do or prove. I doubt you are trying to change anyone's mind because coming off as a jerk or a fool or a schizophrenic tends not to do the trick, in my firm opinion. I think you just vent your frustrations here because you are probably too cowardly to ever say such things at parties or too loud at the bar. pfft, "hanging chads."

Frankin, you're a blithering idiot. Won't you please go back to being Stuart Smalley on SNL? Oh wait, you're bad enough, you're dumb enough, and doggonit, people hate you.

Need I remind anyone, Al Franken is one thing. A showman. He does'nt know any other way to do things and appears to be sure to get his fifteen minutes in the spotlight. He must have either run out of comedy material, or it all got old. Well Al, this show is getting old. Please just sit back and let the system work, and stop acting like a idiot.Stop doing whatever it takes to see your name in the paper,it really does'nt matter anymore

The election recount as not even started and already it has proven invaluable for Minnesotans. The reason is that Minnesotans have been shown the real Norm Coleman. Just days ago television was filled with campaign ads in which the smiling Norm Coleman earnestly told Minnesotans, again, that he was completely nonpartisan and was dedicated to stopping political bickering and achieving solutions to our great problems. Now all Minnesotans can see that Norm Coleman is really the exact opposite of what he portrayed himself to be. Instead of stopping the bickering Norm Coleman has spared no effort to smear the integrity those Minnesotans charged with carrying out the process of a mandatory recount in his election. He has spared no effort to incite his goons to slander honest and hardworking public servants and volunteers dedicated to giving Minnesotans the best election system in the country. So Minnesotans, althought they have to suffer this sickening assault, at least have the truth about the real Norm Coleman.
