The gay community were strong backers of Obama. We were overjoyed when he became President. Shortly thereafter, we were disheartened by the passage of Prop 8 in CA. President-Elect Obama is the child on an interracial couple. I wonder if he sees the irony of being elected while same-sex relationships are outlawed.

Regarding your comment - I believe our new President is enlightened enough to know the difference between being born of two people with different skin color and sin. What's ironic is the hijacking of a legitimate cause (racial civil rights) by an illegitimate one (promotion of sin) and society not consistently and universally calling the fallacy out on the carpet. Wait - it has (even in California) and you aren't listening. Prop 8 says marriage is for one man and one woman. Want to have two men or two women hang with each other - call it something else - I'll still call it sin, so will history, so will nature, so will the Bible, so will your own conscience if you are honest with yourself. original comment - Election Contradictions The gay community were strong backers of Obama. Just because that book, the bible, exists my life should be lived according to it. Oh please......written by the same cronies who thought the earth was flat. I would rather live my life by Grimm's Fairy Tales or Mother Goose! There is no delusion about their meaning. The bible has become passe in the least.

is that sometimes the tyranny of the majority trumps much. If the majority got everything it wanted, women would not be voting or have inheritence rights, biracial marriage would not be legal, blacks would still be side-stepping to the gutter to pass-by, women would be kow-towing to their husbands and some enduring beatings etc........you get my point I am sure. I see this as religion messing with the pursuit of freedom and happiness of this country's citizens. Call it what you will but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, I would say this is plain old bigotry of the first class.
