Sen. Norm Coleman's narrow lead over DFL challenger Al Franken in the U.S. Senate race narrowed even more, guaranteeing a recount that would be the state's biggest ever and could stretch well into next month.

Too close for comfort. What's next in this state? Governor Paulie Shore and Mayor Jamie Kennedy?

Keep the lawyers and the partisans out of the process. Count the votes and get it over with.

Norm can't hide from the Senate Ethics Committee who will investigate the role of his sugar daddy, Nasser Kazeminy. Anyone who reads the suit filed in Texas will agree that there's a bad smell emanating from Norm Coleman - see http://www.thenation.com/special/deepmarine.pdf

don't let coleman claim the high ground and say he won. he hasn't yet. this is how we got the bush cabal in 2000. they kept saying they won and i guess a bunch of supreme court judges finally agreed with them. don't let the coleman political hacks steal this one.

Given the very small apparent margin, and the statutorily required re-vote,It seems particularly arrogant that Norm would simply declare victory, until the recount is concluded. It simply lacks any semblance of respect for the voters or grace in what may well be, but is not yet a victory. So much for reaching across the aisle!

How about if Norm and Al just split the Senate seat in half? Each could serve alternating years for the next six years, getting three years each. Then we'd really see if they could "cross the aisle" and work together with both Republicans and Democrats.
