I have been trying to kill the European Buckthorn on my 40-Acres for over 10-years now. the stuff send out toxins in it's roots and prevents the growth of many native plants. I spend about 40-hours per year pulling, cutting and spraying this nasty stuff. Anybody have a majic bullet to kill European Buckthorn??

Regarding the buckthorn problem, I have had success stopping aspen regeneration on a few acres we logged using a mustard bottle filled with full strength roundup with a small piece of sponge in the tip. Cut the saplings with a pruner about waist high and touch the sponge to the exposed cambium. The results take a little time.
