I do not in any way excuse what Mr Petters did, but I wonder why life in prison is pending for him when we often let rapists (and other sex offenders) and murderers off in a few years? What Mr Petters did was terribly unethical but not violent. And why should Deanna Coleman plead only to one count, when she apparently was involved from the beginning? I cannot begin to understand our justice system. Mr Petters was greedy, but those he bilked were in many cases just as greedy as he was. I am not saying he should go free, but I think life in prison serves no purpose either. I am saying a prayer for them all.

...of the rest of the country. Chief difference, most likely, is just that he was small enough to fall?

He left KSTP to work for this crook. Looks as though Petters wanted him for credibility...maybe he will be back as a broadcaster someday.

Here's hoping Petters soils his orange jumpsuit from fear in the bighouse. Coleman can live with herself and the thought of how many people she helped bilk.

@ richrevcat Your "rapist's and murderer's" get out after 7-10 years to make room for the young black male caught selling a 1/4 bag of pot.

Were the Petters stores, Sun Country, Polaroid, giving to charities just fronts for the laundering operations? He was seen as kind of a hero for rescuing companies.. but was that all just a diversion for the fraud schemes?
