Kids behind wheel, but parents in driver's seat

Ford plans to put a computer chip in the keys of its 2010 models that will allow a parent to limit a teen's speed.

We must be careful not to take away their ability to react on the freeway but all in all this seems like a way to save lives. I am not just saying that because I have a 10 month old daughter and the techonolgy will be perfected by the time she is 16, yes I am!

What do you suppose your chance is of having to "go over 80 to avoid an accident" in the first place? It's a great idea to limit the speed, but 80 MPH is just absurd. Try 65 or 70.
