Finally another airline to help relieve the high prices and poor service brought to you by Northwest.

I have heard wonderful things about Southwest and have always wanted to give them a try. Chicago is a great start, however I would love to see them fly to a few other cities soon too!

Long suffering Northworst passengers will finally have an option selecting an airline. I fly Southwest alot, and love their service and pricing. Only use NWA to get to Midway and pick up a Southwest flight. Even with the luggages hassles, it was better than flying in the sardine cans NWA provides. Now I can skip them altogether. Hooray.

Even with gas prices the way they are, I think it's been cheaper to drive back-and-forth to Chicago twice, instead of flying NWA, since AirTran got out of that segment. Did they purposely wait until after last night's game to announce this? :P

This coupled with the problems Sun Country is seeing will be their demise. RIP

Southwest can board a 737 in about 2/3 the time it takes any other airline because they've come to understand how much time is wasted on assigning seats. Someday--this will catch on beyond Southwet.

I have always find it interesting that NWA overcharged their loyal flyers in the Twin Cities, but gave other competitive market flyers better deals. NWA has always tried to run new competition out of the market by temporarily dropping their prices to those markets... a la Midway airlines. I hope that SW has some staying power. Today's ticket to Midway on NWA is $650. Watch it drop in March.
