It's bad! I HOPE their still working on it. One night I saw a test and the thing looked like a dance floor light show. Completely inappropriate. Now they can't seem to get the whole bridge one color, and the blue they're using is TOO BRIGHT! It's a complete distraction from the beauty of the river front, and it clashes with the subtle blue on the Guthrie. Please tell me they're still working on the color!!!

"subtle blue on the Guthrie?" Are you serious? You could shut the Guthrie down, slap some yellow signs on it, and open up an IKEA store in that building. I'm just glad the bridge is opening up soon. And I still think it's the best of the submitted designs myself. All of the others were plain vanilla, no imagination concepts. At least this one has some styling incorporated into the looks. Nothing stunning, I'll admit, but it's better than nothing, which is what we've had for the last 13 months.

I'm so happy the bridge is done. It looks fine... too many people say it's hideous, but you have to remember that this was a fastracked project with no real time to design something better. It's simple, but more importantly... it's USEFUL. And for those of you who are wary of using it because of how fast it was constructed, you can continue to use alternate routes... just leaves more space for me!

I can't believe that after Flatiron built the new bridge in less than a year by running two crews three shifts in order to relieve some of the worst rush hour congestion this city has seen on all of it's highways, not just 280-94, that you're complaining about the lighting and the color. Jesus, get a life.

so some form of normality returns. But to say it drew emotions from politicians, is a little over the top. Especially when including Governor do nothing Pawlenty.
