Are you a Polaris, Ski-Doo or Arctic Cat fancier? Brand loyalists converged at the world's largest snowmobiling event -- despite the races being held not on snow, but grass.

One of the things I miss most about Minnesota is the smell of a snowmobile starting up for the first time in the fall....

There is a big difference between the knuckleheads who drive ATV's and snowmobilers excluding the ATV riders who use them for utility and hunting I have to say I have never seen a scummier bunch than the ATV idiots running the deep woods drunk and stoned. Very inbred group.

The Clubthat puts on the Hay Day Grass Drags is the Sno Barons. The trash collectors are one of the hardest working little Clubs in Minnesota, the Andover Sno Dragons. The trash take is normallly 27-33 tons of garbage, not 40 tons.

This along with the ATV hatchet job last week shows the Trib is completly out of touch with the real world.

ATV scum? You mean like all those snowmobilers who ride from bar to bar, getting hammered and endangering themselves and everyone else on the trail? Not to mention all the damage studs and carbides do to our roads, highways, and bridges. I ride both sleds and ATVs, so lets be realistic here.

Pitting ATV users against snowmobilers is a huge mistake. We both are losing much more ground than we are gaining every year. Lots of trails are being closed for both groups and few if any are being created. Deaths occur in both sports...accidents happen and can be prevented by riding smart and within your skill limits. Summer and winter motorized recreationalists need to unite to keep what we have already before neither sport has any PUBLIC land left to use. That being said whats up with this article lasting about 10 minutes on the website front page today??? Did the environazis show up for work at 8am and raise a stink so that nobody could read the article during the day??? The Sno-Barons play a vital role in maintaining our states snowmobile trail systems - hats off to them and the other clubs (of which I am a member of one) to the incredible amount of time they DONATE to keep the trails open for everyone.

I moved to Las Vegas 28 years ago. I moved here after being in the Navy and finding out that there are places that don't have snow all winter long, and it doesn't get to 40+ below zero in the winter. If I want to see snow. I just look to the mountains west of town and I can see all the snow I want. The funny thing is. Winter USED to be my favorite time of the year.
