Poor fella. Didn't even get mentioned by name. I was going to vote for Miles Lord's kid, but ran out of time. Hope she didn't lose by 1.

Finally, we're going to get a chance to let Al really go after "do nothing" Norm.

Well well well what do we have here? Norm Coleman and Al Franken? I guess your hoping Barkley is just another Tim Penny or Peter Hutchinson. Sad today he's not, he's got guts he has a lot on his mind and he's willing to say it. This is what the Democrats begged for by nominating Franken. Coleman's loving every minute of it, but little does he know Dean Bsrkley has been around the block once or twice, and he's going to do whatever it takes to deliver the knockout blow to Franken so he can have Coleman to himself.

Norm only got 125440 votes in the Republican primary which was 30,000 votes less than Al Franken got. If you combine Al Franken's votes of 155,617 and Priscilla Lord Faris 71,124 the DFL generated almost twice the number of primary votes that the Republicans did. That does not bode well for Brooklyn Norm in the fall.

She was so late to the campaign, her run smacked of opportunism. Al had made no secret that he was considering a run when he moved back to MN a few years ago, and he formally declared in early '07. His professional activities were a matter of public record for all of that time. Faris waited until well after the '08 caucuses to jump in, like a shark sensing blood in the waters. Her TV ads were only a bit more than name-dropping: I'm the daughter of Miles Lord, I met Harry Truman, I met Bobby Kennedy, etc. Sorry, Ms. Lord Faris, being a "daughter of" is not a qualification for anything. My father was a hospital administrator, but no one would (or should) hire me to run a hospital on that basis.
