Zach said it best, "be peaceful but not passive".

Just got back from Rage, and it was an amazing performance. I'm slightly surprised at how subdued and relatively quiet Zach was from a speaking standpoint, but I guess the music/lyrics said enough on their own. My disappointment comes from the ridiculous and embarrassing police presence. Riot cops lined the entire outside of the building both before and after. Are you kidding me? I loved the "we received intelligence" comment in the article. Nice to know the cities finest can Google a news article from 8 years ago and replicate a similar overreaction. When the house lights came up (during the encore no less) and the band finished the song; Zach implored the crowd to use our discipline as the article stated. However, what they left out was the: "because the police appear to be looking for (expletive) to happen". It sure looked that way to me. See you next time Rage, hopefully minus the MPLS welcoming committee....

new agencies reported that sacks of bricks and bottles were stashed outside the venue before the show. if it's true then i doubt it's a coincidence. but i know people on here would say the police planted them. talk about paranoia. just because you don't want to believe that there are evil troubled people out there doesn't make it untrue. i'm just glad everyone could have a good time without resorting to violence.

... all got to try out their riot costumes. Just make sure you guys all return them to the shop by 1pm Sunday or there will be late fees.

The concert was amazing-the best one I've seen in years. And 100 police officers? I don't know where that number came from...but the author may be short a zero. There were heaps of cops...def overkill. They seemed to be lined up all along every street. I have never seen so many cops in my life. Otherwise a very well written article.

If anyone is wondering where the money that should have gone into their local schools, bridges or neighborhood patrols was spent - check out the MPDs new riot gear and shock troops unit. Their presence and attitued and at the timid post Rage show gathering and subsquent march down 7th st was disgusting in the extreme. Zach De La Rocha was a class act in asking the concert goers to play it cool - which they did - while the MPD did just the opposite. Sad night for RT Rybaks Minneapolis Police.

The torch will soon be passed from President Bush to President McCain. We will have another 4-8 or more years of Republican control over the White House. And, we will be protected from Bin Laden. Yes, if Pres McCain gets ill at 72 as the President, I'm confident that Palin will step in and command our nuclear arsenal and military generals. After all, she is a mother of five children. When I look at the American flag, I think of the Republican party and all they have done. This is the party of Abraham Lincoln and Reagan. God Bless Them. And, God Bless America.

The only report I can find of "stashed bricks and bottles" is in your comment. I talked to my daughter who works at theuptake.org and she said it was the first anyone there had heard of it.

If not, make sure we put your ass in jail! We need to make sure scum like you is off the street!

A lot of low-lifes at that concert. Target center shouldn't have even aloud these scmcuks to perform. Brings out all the riff-raff!
