Thousands gathered on the State Capitol lawn Monday for a rally to protest the Republican National Convention and Republican policies. An estimated 8,000 to 10,000 lounged in the midday heat or huddled in the shade of trees before the march began. With chants, speeches and music, they made their message heard. Here's a look at a few of those who attended the rally.

So you are disappointed to hear there were peacefule dissenters and only want articles about the anarchists? The coverage has been balanced over all about all types of protestors.

I want to read about all the idiots, and read why they feel the need to break things to get their point across. I don't care about body paint. I care about poop throwing, and hippies getting beat down by the police. Which by the way is what should happen if you throw poop. Go home hippies.

look i know you folks in the twin city's must be sick of all the weirdos and jerks and so on and so forth. do you not realise nothing is being said on the national news about any of the protesters? in 1968 (during the vietnam war)Chicago was covered and the protesters and their views, ideas and oddness were seen by the whole of the nation? now here in 2008 a whole group of Americans have chosen to protest and none of the major news outlets are covering it. a pregnant 17 year old girl is more news worthy than Americans clashing in the twin cities. this is really sad! if our founding fathers could see what has become of their dream i think they would cry.

During the Democrat convention McCain ran an ad congratulating Obama for his nomination. McCain also kept a low profile to allow the dems their week in the spotlight. The (lib) media showed all of the speeches, no matter how dishonest and bad they were. This week, Obama is trying to steal the spotlight, the dems are rioting and the media is blathering on about pseudo news so the Republican speeches are not broadcast. My hatred for dems is increasing by the minute.
