Southern California fills sandbags, builds berms to prepare for big surf from Hurricane Marie

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Sand bags and surfers populated Southern California beaches Tuesday in anticipation of potentially damaging surf spawned by Hurricane Marie spinning off Mexico's Pacific coast.
