Can't say we didn't see this coming. The last time colorful leather jackets with the '8 ball' on the back were in style was when we thought solving the Rubix cube was a good time! Unless you live in coon rapids!!

I never shopped there, but my uncle's sign company did all their sign work. That's a big piece of business. But Wilsons painted themselves in a corner with the Leather thing. They could never get out of it.

I bought my wallet there about 5 years ago and it still looks as good as the day I bought it. I guess expensive, but high quality goods isn't a business model that can survive in this economy, too bad.

Selling animal skins bad for your karma. How can people wear another animal's skin over their own? This concept has always creeped me out...

If Wilsons carried quality cowhide dress coats instead of just thin weak, fragile lambskin in my size, 3xlt, I would have been a customer.

I bought their men's leather gloves for winter, thought they were great.

I bought a lambskin carcoat a few yaers back from BCF that lasted less than a year before it had tears and major scratches. I stopped at 10+ stores last year including Wilsons and only lambskin could be found. I went to BCF a few times and they finally got a quality cowhide dress coat. Out of dozens only 1 dress coat made from cowhide was available. I'll never buy lambskin again. But if Wilsons had cowhide like years ago they would have my business.

Their stuff was much higher quality than you ever could find at the discount stores. Yes, you paid more. But it was often cheaper (and less hoity-toity) than the big department stores. I've had several things from there - coats, wallets, gloves - and they've held up very well despite constant use. Sometimes people are just too short-sighted to see that sometimes paying just a bit more gets you a lot more.
